I am wanting to upgrade my powermac g4 quicksilver 2002 933mhz single processor to a dual processor. i wonder if a processor from a mirror drive door would work with the quicksilver 2002 model or not. i would like to make a very nice mac out of this one...

175 is alot of money for me to pay for something like a g5 and so thats why i got the g4 like i did.

I have a Powerbook G4 that someone gave me with a blank hard drive. I'd like to install OS X on it, but the only version listed on apple.com is Snow Leopard, which only supports Intel processors.
What version of OS X can I use with this G4, and any ideas...

I run it on my 1.5GHz G4 PowerBook Mac OS X 10.5 on my iBook G4 and it runs fine.
Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard.
Want to install Tiger 10.4 instead.

Now I had it in on a 933mhz g4 tower and I found it too be on the edge be any Intel, PowerPC G5 or G....
10.5.8 is the most current version.
A 866mhz G4 or better and a DVD drive, but it could potentialy work on slightly slower machines.

I want to buy my dad an iPod nano for christmas. All he has for a computer is an old G4 that is still running Mac OS X 10.3.x (10.3.9 probably)
What iPod can I buy him and he still be able to use? The newest nano requires iTunes 9 which he cannot run....

A friend's taken the keyboard off his 17" Mac G4 Powerbook, screwed it back on and now nothing happens when presses the power button. I don't have 'eyes-on' but he says he didn't do anything else apart from unscrew it, look around then screw it back on...

I have an iBook G4 whose wired and airport card aren't leasing a dhcp'd IP address. ifconfig shows that neither interface has an ip address. The DHCP server is known to be good and working properly. Physical network cable works fine with another laptop...

I'm assuming that if this is running as a file server that it's running Mac OS X Server, correct? If it's not automatically rebooting after a kernel panic then your hardware is old enough that it's probably not supported for that as it's the default on... .
