A finish gun and a brad nailer. My first thought is a 15 ga finish nail will be the best
and you have gravity working against you.I have used the 18 ga on small crown (1 7/8"), but on the big
stuff use the 15/16 guage range.I use a PC 16 gauge finish nailer--it seems to be a nice compromise

I have a porter cable 15 ga. nailer, and I like it, but my biggest complaint is the big hole
it leaves from the driver. I have a paslode 16 ga. which leaves a nice small hole. What 15 ga. nailers do
not. I would use a 2.5 inch 16 ga. Something to remember about nails, the larger the diameter the better
