Can we talk... about gallbladders? Hi Folks. So I've read a bunch of the threads in the health forum related to gallbladders, and notice a number of you have had them removed, and are carrying on. I've been suspecting a gallbladder problem for a while...

Difficult to say without examination. Post-op surgical changes are certainly possible - and should be evaluated by the surgeon who did the procedure. One can also consider Sphincter of Oddi dysfunction. This can replicate gallbladder pain in those who...

Gallbladders can be dysfunctional without stones.
Don't be surprised if your ultrasound is normal.

I have been told I have a probable inflamed gallbladder due to multiple small calculi, and I wondered if anyone with a inflamed gallbladder could describe all their symptoms.

We assume having gallbladders out will resolve everything their gallbladders out I can only say it is well worth just to be free of the horrible pain.

Posted 30 March 2011 - 08:50 AM So I had my HIDA scan this morning. I kind of thought this was just a test to rule out the gallbladder and was waiting to get the results back from my doctor tomorrow about the gene testing to see if I needed a repeat endoscopy...

The problem was genetic their gallbladders removed, and that my mom's problems had begun with her pregnancies also.
The same experience and we both had our gallbladders removed at the age of 30.

Their gallbladders removed and one who is currently waiting to have it done and I can say in all cases.
I was also diagnosed with biliary dyskinesia, and had all of those symptoms plus the right-sided pain. But I also have GERD w/Hiatal hernia, and that can also produce the symptoms that you listed. Have you been tested for GERD or had a PH study or endoscopy...

Actually, people having gallbladders removed completely is fairly common and they live with out.
