As a game developer, I would like for my games to be placed in the proper directory. But I don't know where to install the shortcuts to, any help?

I solved this issue by removing the Games for Windows Live applications (I removed.
Edit: After looking a manual install.
To perform a fresh install, but instead be trying to apply a mandatory update patch.

For some strange reason, this game will not install on my HDD. It just sits there saying "Installing game. Do not turn off your console or remove your storage device." I always install my games but this one won't for some stupid...

I will try this as the game wontdo you have enough free space on whatever drive you're trying to install it on? if so, try I restarted my Xbox I was able to do....
To install once I took my Hard Drive out and cleared the system cache.

I'm currently running Vista 32-bit and want to do a clean install to Windows 7 32-bit. Would it be better to perform a custom install with the upgrade disc or format the drive first, and then do it? is there a difference between custom and clean?

IMHO, it's better to do a clean install when switching....
There's no real difference between the two, except that the custom install will keep your files where the clean install will erase everything (so you should make a backup first).

Yep that seemed to have worked for me thanks :) Signing out worked the update, after that... .
Start the game from disk and install try signing out to install it.
Yeah, I had to sign out to get it to install.

I just got Far Cry on the Steam sale, and am trying to figure out how to install the 1.41 patch and don't know how. It's actually funny that for this long I've played games and never installed a mod, but I would really appreciate the help!

This just started today. When I tried to install a game to the hard drive, it tells me that the disc is unreadable or scratched, clean it and try again.
Tried it with multiple games and it won't work. BUT it plays the games directly from the disc no problem...

I tried the "Clear Cache" suggestion here, with no luck (trying after the same issue and to not be signed in to any profile and then install the game which is what i tried nothing.
And I had to re-install the game.
