I think you're probably as safe with....
But it's hard to make predictions.
Given the market share of GMail, I'd expect that to be the killer app for Gears adoption.
Google is about to roll out "offline GMail", which is built on Gears.

I want to use google gears, not for functionality but for optimization.
I.e. if gears is detected in the browser side, then we will silently use it to do some optimizations and caching in the client side. If it isn't installed we silently work against...

With that in mind you should definitely make it an opt in thing ( as described in the gears faq ), rather than just attempting summary of whats going on, and....
Transparently as the user will have to tell gears to allow your site to use it.

Under the covers, Google Gears uses SQL Lite as its data store. Has anyone successfully connected to the Google Gears SQL Lite DB with C#?

I've just tried to install Google Gears and been told that neither Firefox 3.5.1 nor Safari 4.0.2 are supported.
The browser support page lists both browsers as options but on the basis of "or later" (so Firefox 1.5 +) so I assume that these versions ...

Google have been quite slow to release gears for Firefox 3.5, as it only came out about a week ago of a google gears browser that works in Safari.

There is no good reason to go with a higher TJ I bought to replace my stolen TJ with came with 4.88 gears, 35" tires, and the infamous 42RLE.
, 42RLE tranny in OD gear, 70 MPH = about 2,600 RPM.

Have you looked at the Google Gears API documentation (for JavaScript)?
