As I know, this is the only working solution if you need to work with any CLR type, including geography.

Most likely you want the geography type since it accounts for the curvature of the earth.

That returns a geography::Point, then call your function instead of the standard SQL function if there is something in NHibernate Spatial that will let you programmatically add the geography::Point.
