Glycemic Index foods I just tried a recipe from the glycemic index cookbook and before readings were 137. After 2hrs my reading was 138. I was just diagnosed a week ago and the ADA recipes and foods have been spiking my levels after eating to over 200...

I've been reading quite a bit about low Glycemic load and or index foods and am thinking about adding in some of the lesser threats on both counts (premium ice cream, apples, grapefruit and tomato soup) and peanut M&Ms as a special treat once a month....

I know I never thought of Glycemic Index / Load to actually look of Glycemic Index / Load to actually look at processed foods, lol but I never built a whole eating plan Diet book was that there's....
Is doing / how it works ..
Does anybody know the glycemic index of maple syrup? I love the taste of it and have some occasionally, but I? have Diabetes 2. Is it bad?

I've been studying info on the glycemic index and implemented it fully about a month ago and began seeing immediate results. It wasn't hard cause I was eating a lot of low GI foods anyway, but unfortunately I was eating a lot of anything else that I wanted...

I've just started paying more attention to the gylcemic index and inflammatory factor of the foods I eat but haven't been able to find any app or website that does of good job of tracking that information.

Some of the foods they assume are low GI the question : When Does Tight Glycemic....
The only thing I eat on the GI index is the food below 5 on the list.
Plus the GI index is very confusing.
HbA1c we all know that is not the way to go .

I guess what I do is pretty much my own thing as well, I do use the glycemic index the glycemic index as my guide though.

It would be great to add a optional field to track the GL (Glycemic Load) of the foods we eat. We track protein, carbs, etc. - but for some of us the GL is just as or even more important than many of the other things that are being tracked on MFP. Thanks...

I agree.
Even an indicator of what the glycemic index is next to the food would help estimate.
I would love to be able to track the glycemic load of foods.
