A friend has a Voyetra 8 for sale. It's $1500 and comes with the keyboard.
Anyone know if this synth is worth pursuing?
I love polysynths and this one is definitely cool, but I'm also wary of something so rare. For the same price I could get something...

I owned a Prophet VS for a while too.
A nice instrument however.
I wouldn't say horror story, but I looked into the Voyetra about ten years ago and concluded it might be a maintenance nightmare, not to mention needing a science degree to program it .

Is it worth the money to invest in a battery-backed UPS unit for a home machine? Or is it a waste of money? The purpose of the UPS would be to prevent a "meltdown" of the computer due to bad power in the area, i.e. it's toast(tm).
With the cost of some...

Buying a surge protector may be a good idea worth every penny, and because the computer is fairly good on power now days it lasts for ages when well.
Not be required if you take regular backups of your data .

Is engraving a good investment?
Simple question... is engraving a good investment?
Say a 7 1/2" hunter, 416 bolsters, sambar stag. Out of my shop, it's maybe a $250-275 knife. If I were to have it engraved (at a cost of about $200), would I be able to...

I am still totally open to the best OT available at 14, and I dont care what they are paying him .
I know he played pretty well at RT in 10, but at this point I have no confidence he wont get abused there particularly in division games .

Good investment?: "Guaranteed" 66% return in 5 years (13.2% per year) I came across the following investment opportunity and wanted to see what you guys think.

A "guarantee" is only as good as its backer.
Almost? Lots of red flags here.

I justify the money I spend on Numismatics by telling myself that I'm not spending money...I'm investing money.
This may be partially true but in reality I would have to sell an item for me to get a capital gain and I can't see myself doing that any time...
