Accounts I go to process it, google is still validating the account and the payment isn't approved yet.
As for chargebacks, payments on Google are directly from the buyers' c.c.
Paypal is.

This is meant to be a subjective question on whether or not the PayPal Payment Button is considered a "hobby"-level feature in an otherwise professional e-commerce web application.
Personally, I tend to cringe a little when I go to buy something and see...

Not only does it simplify things, it is....
Beyond that assuming the responsibility to a more cash-only method, I feel great relief when I see a PayPal option on a website.
To trust paypal/google checkout more than a custom solution.

You can certainly access that from within GAE--though you might run PayPal IPN from AppEngine using Django..

It's worth noting, from the research I've done, using PayPal is cheaper than credit card processing, and don't go through some third party to get to the credit card company).

Also, you can pay/checkout using a Credit Card without creating a PayPal Account.
PayPal is more popular than Google Checkout, so people are familiar with it.
And it works very nicely.

I have never used Google Checkout or PayPal API' the credit card processing....
You have two options:
Use a system like Google/Amazon/PayPal or storing any credit card information on your own.
You'll need a provider no matter what.

I can't think of any reason NOT to, can you? We have a CNG car up on Craigslist for sale, and someone working on a ship (so unable to come look at the car) wants to pay for it via paypal, sight unseen, and then have a friend pick the car up.

And paypal will reverse the payment until you can prove beyond a doubt this "friend" delivered the car to them and was acting....
If it were $10 maybe.
This screams "SCAM" to me so there's no way I would accept payment via Paypal.
