Please see the attached screenshot. I cannot close the "Install Google Chrome" button on my search page because the "X" button is hidden behind the top black toolbar. It has been this way for several weeks.

Hi pheryx, can you clear cache and cookies in the browser that you use and close it then reopen and see if the same occurs? Also, what happens when you sign in by selecting the link? Clearing the cache and cookies changed nothing .

I am trying to STOP the Ask Toolbar from being my default the "Ask Toolbar....
Then uninstall the Ask toolbar, which I think you can do from the Remove Applications Add/Remove Programs list as "Ask Toolbar".

Maybe someone can write a script to remove it, but the best use the Google toolbar or, for example in Safari, just use the search box at the top, There is also nag, mainly re Chrome....

Firefox has built in Google searchWhy do you want it? You don't need it to use Comcast.

I was doing something at the time when I got the prompt saying that I should update Bittorent and I must not have been paying attention because along with the update it installed this hellish bittorrent toolbar and it is completely discombobulating my...

You can remove it by removing the bittorrent browserbar, though I thinkwhat uTorrent/....
It by uninstalling "bittorrent toolbar" from control panel / add or remove programs, and in the end, it's just a browser toolbar.
