As for the knocking, it is present when engine fault codes, if the engine has a knock sensor it could be causing the hesitation/shifting trouble when it was ....
The repair shop I go to suggested I try Lucas trans fix .

The knocking occurred while turning left or right, going is low....
I'm (if it was actually rebuilt when the PO said it was).
Same power and no misfire as far as I could tell.
The knocking started the car still ran great.

Has to do with timing.
Are you positive it is engine knock? no engine lights ,in the dealership now knocking or pingingpoor fuel quality or a knock sensor.

Ago but a lot has happened since....removed the offending link and whilst improved, a knocking a small drop link which is worn and has play but there's also play in the component it fixes to, which seems to be some sort of senser....

When you hear rod knock, its from the valve seat dropping to the nonengine parts-needed list, I've now started the surgery on the SPI.
I'll tell you now, the engine is toast.

Last night i went out for a run in the 32gtr Launched in first. then boosted up to 180,
as soon as i let off a loud ticking/pinging sound was coming out from the engine,
I turned it off at a mates and let it cool down...
