I was recently in the market for a GPS device. Though had finalised on map my india VX140s, was not too sure of spending 10k on something which i plan to use occassionally.
Suddenly came across the news that Nokia provides OVI maps free of cost...

Peth Map Centre told me last week that the new Hema Navigator has a 5 inch screen and can be connected preloaded 4GB MicroSDHC
Micro SD expandable to 16GB card

It appears that City Navigator Europe 2013.10 was released earlier today, at least the Map Viewer on the Garmin Website now shows it in place of 2012.40. I'm sure Popej will know for sure.

Another solution for a GPS Well do to my business travel I started using VZ navigator on my Blackberry. I have been really impressed with the service as it gives street names multiply warning and even provides traffic updates. The great thing about it...

GPS don't rely on cell signals but ones directly from an auto GPS when disconnected....
Of City Navigator EU, but somebody from that side of the Atlantic will have to advise you further in France to explore!
