you are satisfied....
Place at least 4-6 inches or more if you afford it; good practice is
to mix 20-30% peet with your topsoil it helps retain water.

So I am out working in my yard today, and my 76 year old male neighbor
comes outside, and he starts sprinkling grass seed all over his
treebelt. The problem is, his treebelt is completely covered in
rocks He has what appears to be 1/2 to 3/4 inch rocks...

Grass improvement equipment
I have just taken back control of some marshes after 20 years in ESA. Have had a bit of a dig with a spade, there are pockets of peat but other places thin topsoils over clay. The ph is reasonable and hence not that weedy....

If you just put down topsoil and not mix it in, you of by using a Weed N Feed or a regular....
It is not that good for grass however unless you plan course of action will be number three on your list.
If all you want to do is grow fruit trees .
