The good news is I don't think that you have to worry about your other fish getting sick, IMHO.
My guess is that your fish was a gravid.

If she IS gravid thats the best....
If you think she may be gravid, then cease pairing them and keep.
Tony Gauging a female's receptivity can be tricky.
Good luck.
Much more aggressive/denfensive in general so chances are shes gravid.
