The combination makes a nice juice/gravy on the bottom up on cranberry sauce! Yes, it's really cheap if you stock up around the holidays when cranberr sauce a crockpot "pizza potatoes" recipe....
Or rice, but it's good just as it is.

Mnkid suggested (thanks) that we should have a spot for our no spend January and recipes for using all of our stockpile ingredients. I was thinking of this as well and cannot wait to see some of these recipes. So what do you have tons of in your stockpile...

We to eat from our stockpile more for the holidays and do less shopping and more saving at this time on a blog I used to do.
Mashed potatoes, frozen corn (the ones with a butter sauce are better for this) gravy, and cheese.

Nothing fancy. Just good old fashioned cooking.
Smothered pork chops (nicely seasoned, browned, then simmered in gravy until
fork tender). This will be served with mashed potatoes and steamed baby
peas. I may even go wild and have a scoop of coffee ice...
