I was at area 6 over the weekend and there was some talk of a new rule on the way in single stack to require the grip safety to work. Anybody else hear anything about that?
For me that is a deal killer as if I have a good grip on the gun, and my thumb...

The government made him do it.
TXPO I've heard John Browning did not specify a grip safety for the 1911.
There is a reason the 1911;s grip safety is so large.
Sizes, I think it would be fine.

There is no adjustment for what you describe....
They way they are made, it has to work.
The grip safety was just another old government solution to a non-problem....just like S&W's internalYou have a defective grip safety.

Since new, the grip safety has always rattled. Actually, you can dry fire the gun by giving the gun a quick jerk downward without having your hand on the safety. If your just holding it in any position, it will not fire, but I do not know if this is a...

Even the high end can have some "play" in the grip safety.
I own several 1911's with many high end.
I've had this isue with other 1911's.
Remove that grip safety without taking down the gun.

Fairly new to 1911. A while back I got a new S&W SW1911TA which I really like. Fit and finish seem about as perfect as possible. But have a question about the grip. I noticed that the grip safety releases with just the slightest amount of pressure. Although...

The grip safety only blocks the trigger.
It blocks the sear.

How much side to side play/wobble in a grip safety would you deem acceptable from a top notch custom pistol shop? I KNOW its only a cosmetic issue to have a little play/wobble, but when you drop big money on custom work, what kind of grip safety fit is...

You can probably adjust to your liking by bending it .
