I've grown both.
And are red bell peppers harder to grow than green bell peppers? Sams has the same set up as my tomatoes and are pretty each to grow.

Freezing is so much quicker than canning and get done what I can .
I have enough tomatoes to freeze a couple qts.
Soon in the fall.
Sure if you're growing any tomatoes down there, you should be able to grow all varieties.
