Help tuning guitar string D? My guitar string (D) or third thickest is out of tune. And the knob refuses to tighten and yet, the string still appears to deep. The guitar is very old (but this is my first time using it) and I'm worried I may have to replace...

The letters correspond to notes the strings make the hard part of tuning a guitar.Standard tuning is EADGBE.

Whether the tuner itself is damaged is unknown, but it it sustained that much of a hit, there's a good chance that something is bent .

Just start on the d on the fifth on the second string and do a pentatonic, minor or major it's your choice If we assume that you are tuned to c vestapol - you might try 'trouble in mind' or 'ramblin'.
