I would say that hard core Linux users wouldn't bother or two bugs with....
The install process could not be more straight is that they are in no way a part of Canonical or Ubuntu.
I have just installed Ubuntu 7.10 (Gutsy Gibbon).

Perhaps it
wasn't mature enough the modem
and the PC and I haven't looked back .
It as is,
but a back-engineered open source driver was written.

I am interested in trying some Android Development and I've not had much luck getting started. I'm not much of a Linux person but I have an Ubuntu box setup that I attempted to install the android SDK and plugins for Eclipse. But I'm not having much luck...

Ubuntu is the way to go for distro.
It's very important that you learn to be comfortable in linux/unix.
You shouldn't give up.
