Of ETTR, and by extension HA-ETTR, is that you need to know how the camera histogram or Highlight Alert the ETTR or HA-ETTR exposure appropriately.
Is there something similar to what you use on a cellphone to protect the screen from constantly touching/wiping it off and getting it scratched up ?
