Razoring is standard, but haven't seen it used too many times on men. Go back, and just tell them you want it clipped even across the bottom. Sometimes that's the only way the stylist will know if she needs to improve on her technique.

I can't remember who it is, but there is a company out there that makes an IRS that mimics a tube axle. Basically, each control arm connects to a pivot point on the opposite side of the chassis. I doubt it's set up for handling, but it could give you an idea of how to make something that would.
