For example; for a person of my height Werner's website recommends a river-running paddle of 194cm and a playboat paddle of 191cm. I need a new paddle but can't really justify...

I notice in the interior images the automatic frs has the look of the manual and the frs is described as having paddle shifters but do you have the option of moving the stick shift up and down?

You don't push either paddle forward to shift up and pull to shift down.

Just asking since it seems better than down a creek without a paddle. At least up a creek you have the current to carry you downstream. Whereas if downstream and you wanted to get upstream, then that is a bad situation.

Here's a vbox plot of my R35 vs my S4 (before I started lightening it), on the same track, same-ish conditions (different day tho).
The accel curves are very close, but the S4 loses out with my 'slow' gear changes. The R35 changes are almost invisble....
