Some time ago I compiled hdhomerun_config arch linux on it, compiled the hdhomerun software and much to my surprise I was able to record 3 the hdhomerun software for the platform ....
I run tomatousb firmware on an ASUS RT-N16 router.

If all they have is digital tuners (like the hdhomerun) then they can't be used.
What you are trying an analog tuner on them.
The Hdhomerun is a digital tuner NOT a capture card.
No, that will not work.

I get very good performance with the HDHomeRun Prime over a Netgear ProSafe switch, an Apple Time Capsule router, and back.
AT&T U-verse seemed more sensitive to the network than the HDHomeRun Prime.
