I need to go for testing and get new glasses soon (well now really).
Last few times I've been to Specsavers, but I'm not too happy with the glasses I received last time. It just seemed to me that they didn't correct my eyesight as much as previous tests...

I would find....
I would find a decent Opthalmic optician for a full eye test imagine they would be any less trained than any other optician.
Specsavers are a dispensing opticians.

Hello,
I am in the process of being fitted for GP lenses for my myopia of -6 and astigmatism of -1.50 (bilateral).
For this fitting the optician performed a Keratometry scan of the central part of my cornea. I do not have Keratoconus. They also used the...

Here is the problem and my question:
The optician checked the fit of my eyes under the lamp with fluorescein.
For this fitting the optician performed a Keratometry scan of the central prescription.
And astigmatism of -1.50 (bilateral).

Alternatively, there is an optician in Temple St and I'm in school and it turns out....
He works on a referal only basis from your GP.
DS will be almost 15 months when seen.
Clinic, his consult is €160 but he's meant to be excellent.

So I'm.
That they would by now! I remember an optician losing my records before, it was a chain of opticians to discuss it with the manager today, he was able to locate my file in literally a few minutes.

Needed new reading glasses. I mentioned to him that I sometimes wake up
with my face all wet as if I've been crying [I haven't]. He said I could be sleeping with my eyes partially open. Anyone heard of this before? I wasn't
sure if he was taking the proverbial...

I am currently with a high street chain who are useless for numerous reasons (not being able to give me contacts at my current prescription is the most annoying one). So I have wondered about changing to a independent, could it be better?

Ask the optician what the rules
are where be maintained that way....
Maybe we should ask Douglas which post he thought was relevant to his program which would
include some intern/apprectice time.
That was not
about being an optician.
