As already mentioned about the side effects, the night vision halo of lights, you want to put that off as much as possible. Once you start having laser surgery to help prevent the hemmorrages in back of the eye, the halo effect will come soon enough along...

All they do for laser surgery is to numb your eye so you don't feel things.
