Okay so the actual filters from MSR don't protect against viruses :/ so should this be a problem? I mean there are known feral hogs where I backpack (I ran into some) and they spread nasty viruses (which is why I am looking to backpack with a rifle now...

Won't touch iodine - not as effective as other options, and potential health hazards with long term options, and potential health hazards with long term use.

I believe it's 15% of the people clear HCV on their own. Sounds like you have a good immune system and that it cleared the virus for you. I'm saying this based on your comment that you have no viral load. You will always test positive for the antibodies...
