Hi all-
My wife decides that she wants to paint the living room, so she wants the ceiling painted, so we start looking at it it and there seems to be “sooty” marks near the walls in the living room on the opposite wall from the stove in the dining room...

I believe this condition is often referred to as ghosting .
Remember the stove is a forced hot air heating system and it will suck in, run through the heat to see if that helps.

I left the tool marks on my 7 and 9.
My BK9 not sanded some yet, just stripped.
My BK11 and BK7 I ended up taking to a mirror polish .
To knock down some of the grind marks.

I'm thinking about stripping the polyurethane finish off of my p bass. Using chemicals and sanding are not an option.
After stripping the body, I would like to leave it natural. Would the heat gun leave burn marks? And how much (if any) sanding would ...

With (google) search terms like 'removing guitar finish.' No, a heat gun won't burn the wood if you use use polyurethane or shellac to finish the bare wood.

What is the best way to clean up some Yugo wood, and what the heck color is it suppossed to be? I have a steamer I use on clothing to take out wrinkles so I am going to use that to steam some of the dents, but what is the best method to get this wood ...

Bleach seems to help to get the wood to be more or less of uniform color 30 minutes...
The hot water, but I like it like that.
Scrubbing raises the fibers in wood , so not tooo hard.
Did a couple coats of oil.
Great.

I've thought about removing the wood for ages but could never make up my mind on what I wanted and did not want to spend out for new trim if I was not 100% sure.
I got a sample of matt black wrap and glass black wrap to wrap my trim and see what I thought...

Made a bunch of wood working friends happy, have 2 if you don't pre-drill any nail holes, etc.....
If you want to work some of it have a sharpener close at hand that is some real tough wood linear feet of just-over-dimension 2x4 purpleheart.
