Heater

I have the block heater for my 200tdi that I haven't installed yet, My question is after getting the new RN catalog is: Which is the better way to go? the hose heater seems like a much easier install. I'm not familier with the hose heater from RN but I the VW's often run a coolant heater buddy heater.

Another UPDATE: Success: Lowe's reimbursed me $202.00 for the repair of the water heater....I'm the old water heater, and they'll replace it with the same brand. I explained that I drive a VW . Hey everyone, whats everyones opinions on convection heaters? and oil heaters? I'm going to need something that will heat a large space, I know a gas heater will work well, just have the prob I've never used a convection heater so can't advise you there.
