I have a build thread going on here, I have built a 100G in wall tank with a 60G sump that actually holds about 30-40 gallons in operation. Anyone following the build, please excuse this explanation, but it may help people unfamiliar with my setup understand...

Then that's a different story Where I live, heating the water up is rarely an issue, cooling it down that's in the upper 70s or low 80s most of the year.

With my Hitzer insert, the oil burner never needs to come on for heat. Since the burner has a coil for heating domestic hot water, and with the temp of the water coming into the house so low in the winter, I am not raising the water to a comfortable temperature...

If you have a basement, consider a heat pump water heater,expensive to buy water....
It is a waste and a shame to use the "summer-winter" hookup to heat domestic hot water, even for domestic hot water.

We have just bought an old house in the country which was built in about 1890. There is no gas at present and is heated by an oldish boiler powered from LPG gas bottles outside, which are also piped up to a fire place, though the fire has been removed...
