I think that if you decide to not wear a helmet when you ride a cycle, something you have a right to do, you should sign paperwork that absolves the state or government of any requirement to provide you with healthcare or services that you may require...

Weight is more a consideration with bike helmets.
Opening on full face car helmets is generally smaller as vision not required with head at extreme angles so smaller view port offers better intrusion protection.
Venting generally better on bike...

Probably from a friend knowing the life of the helmet infact my girlfriend has done and is proving fine, but my brain is where I live, and a helmet is the last thing I'd skimp on.
