Good infoguys.
I have great luck with the Milwaukee brand key hole saws for metal at Home Depot, cut through my rool bar tubes fairly easy. I just use penetrating oil for cutting oil, not sure of the difference.

If you have any paint hole saw with plenty of new motor oil to lubricate the cut, and then enlarged the holes a bit variable speed Dewalt drill with....
I forget the brand.
I used a bi-metal hole saw bit I got from Lowes.

Cheap Hole saws for cutting dash holes, extern lighting holes etc Just found this site:
UK Drills
- prices much cheaper than anything Ive seen before, and much cheaper than the high street.
Probably only good for cutting a few holes before going blunt...

Does a hole saw make a hole all the way through the door? or do i have to go on the other side of the door and make another hole?

Depends on how deep the....
Besides the saw tends that.
The hole saw has a pilot drill in the middle so once it goes through, so you should drill from both sides to get neater edges to the hole.
Go at it from both sides anyway.

I need to cut a 2 1/2" hole in my firewall and the steal reinforcement plate I made to support my hydroboost. I picked up a "Bi-Metal" hole saw and it cut through the firewall ok but was to dull to cut through anything by the time I got to the support...

I've used lenox, I need to drill 1-1/2 holes in 1/4 thick mild steel.
Fluid and a hole saw works fine in metal if it's stated for that purpose as well.

Hello,
I need to create some 3 inch diameter 3/4 inch thick "disks" out of 3/4 poplar, by using a hole saw on my drill press. I have a Ryobi 10 inch drill press, and I just bought a hole saw kit from Harbor Freight.

And to use a piece of stock maybe 3 1/2" - 4" wide and position the hole saw off center so will for the sawdust....
You will have to take small bites and clear the chips out frequently. .
It at it slowest speed when using a hole saw.

Just borrowed a hole saw from the metal shop.
wanted to punch an extra fan hole ontop of my sonata III as the new antec 620 is going to be blocking the only exaust port.
I think the 4.5 inch saw will be too big, so Ill have to settle for the 4 inch saw...

Long ago I gave up on using a drill bit in the hole ....
I'll try it next time I use a hole saw.
Once it flat spots on the ends of any hole saw teeth you might of the washer trick.
On the arbors would not stay tight.

I'm about to install a new faucet and it appears that the size is 1 3/8. Is it acceptable to use a 1.5" hole saw for the holes, or does this cause issues? It's just a temporary install at this point (no counter tops yet).
