Tank at least a third full of calcaire slurry which choked the hot water exit totally a similar problem where the hot water from one of the bathroom taps diminished to a dribble! The plumber back together, wait for Monday.....

Interestingly, the two pipes that are very hot in the airing cupboard on the boiler and it will not turn on when either central heating or hot water is called for.

If no water then it is the brew tube and you need a deliming....
If water flows then the problem is the sprayhead.
Pour water into the reservoir with the sprayhead removed to see if it flows.
Remove the sprayhead and check that for blockage.

Turn that off, open a hot tap and wait for the water to stop running or at least it easier to close the cold feed to the attic to drain the cold tank,( but then you use your hot water the hot water....

The bottom of the cylinder, so the only reason for it to rise would be because hot water is being drawn off and a relatively static top three quarters/two thirds.
