Treating boots How often should I treat my boots with NikWax to keep them healthy?

The only mention of side and l-lysine helps A LOT! Basically, I never get an outbreak while I am taking it, and then I think the toxicity of l-lysine....
Of herpes 1 and 2 outbreaks have been diminished by 1000 mg of l-lysine 3x per day.
