Ultegra Hubs vs. 105 Hubs. Which should I get?
Is it worth the extra $80 for the weight-savings/speed advantage on the Ultegra?
Will the difference be unnoticeable?
Thanks!

The hub is at the center of rotation as opposed of a difference as lighter rims will.
Make as much of a difference as lighter rims will .

Hi All,
I was given an IBM 3534-1RU SAN HUB and I realized that it isn't a fibre hub that would do TCP/IP!
So what could I use this for?

It is used to connect Fiber Channel HBAs to a FC SAN enclosure. .

Hi all,

For an anti-hacking project I need to get a network hub that can sniff packets - not a switch. A lot of products are calling themselves hubs, but are really switches. Can anyone recommend a true hub?

Many managed switches have the option of enabling a monitoring port which will be able to listen to all traffic. .
Ebay or a local computer recycle shop.

How capable are USB hubs?

I've seen USB hubs specifically created for RockBand. Are they required or is this just marketing? Will any old USB hub work? My gut says yes, but my wallet says ask someone else.

Yes - a USB hub is a USB hub.
I might opt for a powered hub though; I'm not sure how much power in the on-board USB.
As far as the USB interface goes).

What is the most useful USB hub that you have had experience with.
I have a Seagate FreeAgent Go that is powered by USB and I want to get a USB hub that is able to provide me with more USB ports and can power my harddrive.

This is the one I ended up getting
http://amzn.com/B000TTTJ36.
Just make sure that it gets power from an external source (wall plug) .
It doesn't really matter much which ones you get from my experience .
USB hubs are so generic these days.

I want to put a networking device on an Ethernet connection between 2 digital devices. The communication will be 1-to-1; there will only be 2 devices connected through the networking device. And I wont need DHCP or firewalling (for now).
I've already...

hub, and the answer is always switch when you can afford it.
Use a crossover cable", it's switch vs.
When you have just two machines to connect, why, so the problem here is not "use a box vs .
With just two devices, a hub is sufficient.
