HV40 vs XA10 Would you switch? I currently work with a HV40, but I am considering switching to the XA10. I would love to hear some of your thoughts on this matter. Thanks!

Canon VIXIA HV40 DR-100.
Focus more on content and less on the pixels (especially since the hv series is already good-enough-quality imho) .
Just do something - stand there!!! I'd just stick with the HV40 man.

Tapeless Menu option for HV40? I've started using my Firestore FS-C60 with my Canon HV40 for doing 8mm film transfers. It works great, but is there a setting in the HV40 menu that allows me to operate the camera without a tape?

I was just hoping there was a setting on the HV40 that would allow operation without recording ....
The link is for the HV30, but there isn't any difference from the HV40 and simultaneously to the FS-C DTE.
The time to reference the manual.

If you needed to buy a cam today would it be HV40? Sold my beloved HV30 with the full intention to buy HV40.
But then had some doubts.

Mac isn't recognizing HV40 I upgraded to Lion OS. Now when I turn on FCE, FCP, or iMovie none of them recognize my HV40. It says "No Camera Connected".
I did everything that Eugenia listed in her sticky.
I reset camera, changed fire wire cables, restarted...
