A friend of mine gave me her ipod. I have downloaded itunes, but my computer nor itunes will recognize my ipod. Can someone help me? I believe the ipod is a ipod classic.

Hi, running windows 7 64 bit and itunes 9.0.2.25. works well with old ipod and ancient shuffle but new ipod video generates 'can detect but not identify ipod'. On an XP machine the ipod works fine with the latest version of itunes.

On device manager? It may be that the driver for the iPod has become corrupted, so if you connect machine, have you checked it is showing up on device manager? It may be that the driver for the iPod hasHave you tried resetting....
