It is a crapshoot that might be causing the problem .
The best advice I can give to any jailbroken ipod/iphone problems is wipe the whole device out that the app works ok and does not conflict with any phone/ipod function/feature.

To the latest possible firmware Technically it's iPod 2G as it's only 32GB or greater that exists for 3G.

How do I restore my ipod without having to verify the firmware with apple? I think its kind of funny how when you buy something from them, they still will force control over it and not let you restore your ipod with the firmware you choose to use.

I was charging it for quite some time (i year + ) until I did a firmware and software update.
