One difference is that you can program....
If you have no problem with iTunes, +1 iPod.
An old school Winamp user may want to try iTunes or research Zune software for instance before making the plunge.
My iPod, but I also like iTunes.

ipod touch is ftw and more expensive and kinda easier 2 use and zune is cheaper and lil more complicated to use quality wise like mp3 players Zune is easier to program against, and you don't need.
