I'd like my daughter to have the ability to download free stuff but not apps that have a cost.
Is there a way around giving her the password and thereby having free access to my credit card?

Only do this after the iTunes account has been created and the card linked to the account....
Sorry, I don't 100% remember to see if they can block purchases from iTunes.
I don't think you have to enter a CC number on your iTunes account.

Sometimes when I'm on Cydia or when changing a theme in Winterboard, a window will pop up asking for my iTunes password. What's happening?

The password pop up box started after I downloaded from iTunes.

when i made my backup prior to attempting jb, it made me set a password - now it won't let me jb until I remove the password in iTunes. How do I do this?

Have noticed over the last few days that every so often my iPad prompts me for my iTunes password. It usually happens when I unlock it or occasionally when starting an app (and not always the same app).
Has anyone else had this problem?

I have only ever been you contact apple with that one... .
Asked when purchasing or updating an app, never heard of apps asking for your iTunes password, suggest general settings you can change how often you get asked for your password.

How do I configure the new "Home Sharing" feature in iTunes 9? I've enabled turned on Home Sharing in iTunes 9 on two computers (both running Mac OS X) on my home network, but I don't see how to tell it to share specific playlists or media types.

You for your other computers....
iTunes will ask you to enter the account password and then turn on Home Sharing.
Do the same for your Home Sharing.
Type in the other computers' (different) Apple/iTunes account and password.

Hmmmm odd, have you tried it without having a password.
Does it work if you access the NAS drive first, and then open iTunes? No - I checked that the NAS is there and recognised etc and no joy.
