Even if that doesn't work for you, that page has some info on where iChat stores its jabber, and other, settings so you can copy those files to a network location....

Same problem here just outside Chicago.
The release should also pack a fix to iChat 3.0, which has presented some users with insufficient bandwidth issues.
And ethernet networking.

With Lion, apple introduced iChat service plugins. If we could get a look at the way that iMessage is implemented in the iOS 5 source code, doesn't it follow that we could write a working service plugin for iChat?

Oh / audio with ichat 4.0.x.
Apparently the iChat ALG has http in it too.
Just make sure that the iChat ALG policy is lower than your http policy and it will take care of the issue.
I've got it working now...

Did not see any video attached to your reply Is it possible that a backdrop change is only available thru "snow leopard"???? You should be able to get to the video by mousing over the words "this video" in my previous post and clicking there .

Since I upgraded to Lion I can't use iChat on my 2.2ghz i7 MacBook Pro. Simply won't log on. Tried deleting the account and adding it again but nothing. It's a Mac.com account.
It works ok on my Mini.
I'm up to date with 10.7.2

iChat does cut in and out sometimes, though.
Really?
I guess it makes sense that iChat would allow that.
That includes AIM and Yahoo/Google.
