I just set up an iChat server on a Leopard Server. I'm planning on testing it out with a small group of people, but I'd like to set it up remotely so I can just tell them to "Open iChat" instead of having them go through the process of setting up and ...

Even if that doesn't work for you, that page has some info on where iChat stores its jabber, and other, settings so you can copy those files to a network location....

I did the new update 10.62 and ichat doesnt work

By the way my ichat version is 5.0 ( 740) Thats the wrong version of iChat in 10.6.2
Download_updates/macosxv1062updatecomb o.html i did download it and installed it, and ichat show me the buddy list but frozen what is wrong i made....

I used to use iChat all of time, but recently it has stopped working. In iChat preferences it says "This computer does not support video chats." I don't know what to do, please help.

I have Mac os X vers 10.7.2 and ICHAT vers 6.0.1.. suddenly my ichat has no or very low sound from the person that i am video chatting with. this happened ever since i upgraded to the new os software. what do i do?

Can ichat rendezvous allow someone who is not on the same network as you get access to your computer? Such as, can a key logging type program utilize ichat rendezvous to send a person screen shots, etc.? The person in question had access to my computer...

If you have no other Macs at home then in iChat Rendezvous can be turned Off.
Turning your firewall On for you and only allowing iChat Rendezvous I would see as quite to the Rendezvous ones.
With/through iChat.

After clean install of OS X 10.6 Server, I migrated previous 10.5.8 server and
everything seems fine except for iChat -- none of previous settings imported,
and the 'settings' panel is grayed out, so I cannot configure anything.

It is totally non responsive.
I cannot: modify, start, stop, or reset ichat.
Ichat will not start and is grayed out for all the settings.
I have a very similar issue where I did a upgrade from 10.5 to 10.6 .

An attempt within iChat to initiate an audio or video chat from an account on talk.google.com to another account on talk.google.com may succeed or fail. In my experience, if the remote account user is connecting to talk.google.com with an iChat client...

In iChat or Message Beta I never see the green Video Or Audio only icons when a Google (Or Jabber) Buddy is not using iChat.

For some reason my iChat work fine between me and my mother (both on Snow Leopard), but does not work well with my sister (Leopard).
I can start a video chat with my sister, but after a couple of minutes the video freezes at both ends, but the audio continues...

Set it to 1.5Mbps She should restart iChat after the change so it "Sees" the new the line "Binary Images for iChat....
Tried various different next time she is on.
Go to iChat prefs/video and change bandwidth to 500 and see if that helps.

My ichat software has some problem.. i dono tha cause.. it shows my accounts as offline with a tide symbol on its left.. when clicked shows as ichat lost the connection to the google talk account "gmail" ... once i remove my accounts and reenter them,...
