VS 2008 SP1.
I have created a setup project for our client. The icons for the setup.exe and setup.msi are the standard icons.
Our client doesn't want this these icons. They want to have icons that look like they logo.
Is it possible to change the *.exe...

You can change the setup.exe icon, but I'm not sure about file you just built, File -> Open ->....

For example, although I have iTunes pinned to the taskbar, when I click it, it opens another iTunes icon for the actual process. Is there a fix?

I just wonder if you have the Taskbar properties set to Never Combine .
Unpin then repin the icon.

I would like to decrease the width of pinned icons. I already have the small icons set, but there is still a lot of whitespace around the icon that is unnecessary.
I guess ideally I would like the pinned icons to look like quick launch icons in XP.

Could you recommend a good source of free SVG icons? A lot of free icons is good, a good way to search them is better :)

I'm not sure if I am referring to it with the correct terminology, but in the top right bar is a set of icons including battery life, time, wifi etc.
I have quite a few of these but sometimes the menu items for an application encroach across the screen...

Not tried it recently icons.
Some icons (at least the battery, Wifi and Date/Time) support dragging and dropping my holding down down option (alt) and dragging the icons would allow you to reorder them.

I once bought a single license of Microangelo for creating icons which served me well in the past, but now I'm helping run up a new Virtual Machine base for our dev team to use and would like to include a decent free icon editor in there.
I'd prefer something...

They're not specifically for icons, but will do the job it's free, powerfull and supports Vista Icons (256x256): IcoFx
On this site you can find a tool Iconworkshop
I would use Inkscape to design....
I would recommend Paint.NET , or The GIMP.
