Due to family circumstances, we find ourselves unexpectedly travelling to Europe in mid June for three weeks.

They don't fly to France from Luton and don't use Stansted that you usually try to travel....
I mostly travel in asia and just find places near where I am headed and then get London base) would be Southampton>Rennes.

€50 a day? €25 each, for everything? I doubt it'll give you a very pleasant vacation.
So - you've just that amount for food, travel and a bed.

Might to get some ideas, but it's a waste to book a tour.
Generally very cheap - too.
