My daughter has only 2 weeks left this semester and she just had a psychotic break. We took her to the ER and had a Psychiatric Emergency service evaluation. She is 22 so it is hard to make her sign in against her will...as she was deemed not a danger...

Paranoia, especially in 22 year olds.
Psychotic breaks are not common.
Experience with severe mental illness.

People with knowledge on psychotic depression? Do people psychotic depression have to be medicated for life? If they came off their medication would the psychosis and depression come back? Can they recover completely and not have to be on medication?

They can wean off the drugs slowly and see how it goes .
Sadly I'm ill again.
I beat off depression anorexia and agoraphobia in 4-5 years and was well and off drugs for 20 years .
Depressions turn in to a psychotic version.
