Just wanted to recommend the Pindari Glacier trek, you can do it "teahouse or homestay style trek" or bring tents etc.
I recommend getting a guide if like me, you are a women traveling alone. I was lucky to meet a good local guide in Loharkhat...

By Dharamsala I take it you mean McLeod Ganj ( "Dhasa") - near 2000 meters and extremely unlikely to an be issue , even in monsoon .
Dharmasala , Bir, etc.
But you will find serious disagreement.
