Hi there,
We won a diversity visa and arrived in the USA on the 11th January. We need to find medical insurance, buy a car, and then insure it. Any advice on these subjects would be just great.

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, but how difficult is it to see a psychiatrist without medical insurance or money? I live in Brooklyn obviously, if anyone can link me to some local resources that'd be great.

We need to remember the medical insurance industry was very much involved in writing the new Obamacare. Obamacare was written for the medical insurance industry. So is the high dollar return to status quo that repubs favor.

I have three personal anecdotes, from both fully-insured to non-insured.
1: Uninsured, mid 1990s. History (2 ER visits) of miscarriages. Went to doc because of pain, suspected pregnant, doc suspected ectopic pregnancy and sent me toot sweet to the ER....

This country's insurance industry is messed up, IMO.
I guess you should contact many insurance companies to see if someone I barely make my rent and buy food and gas.
