You could bring friend out to barn with you and introduce her to BO/let BO see her ride your horse.
The only one allowed to ride your horse, and of course friend will sign a release form.

So I just rang my insurance company after passing my test on Wednesday only for them to say that I'm on a 125 policy and cant upgrade it to the diversion but cant afford to insure the diversion without selling the cbf125.

Over and above your holiday/medical insurance make SURE you are covered riding a Harley-Davidson, because most standard holiday insurances only cover up to 125cc.
