I am using the Yahoo Messenger client. The problem is that it will not log in until after I have been logged into windows for 5 minutes or so. If I try and connect before 5 minutes, it just sits there spinning.

I used to have this problem ....
I know AIM does this, but not sure if Yahoo Messenger if anything is trying to make a yahoo messenger connection during startup, and disable it.
Are on wireless I could see it taking a while .

I've noticed that after I reinstalled Yahoo! Messenger 2 weeks ago, clicking on a link in a chat window opens in IE, while before it was defaulting to Firefox. How can I change the default browser back to Firefox?
My default browser is Firefox.

Looking around, it seems that Yahoo Messenger can ignore the default.
Click "Check Now".

Why does it say that i can't connect to yahoo messenger? it says click for trouble shooting but then i do that and it says might not be connected to the internet but i obviously am.

I have some users in company i work that they can only access Yahoo Messenger, but they aren't allowed to access the internet.
So far, i try to set a rule in ISA like this, but it failed:

I can only remain signed in to Yahoo Messenger 8.1.0.421 if I turn off IM Security completely . Seems I can then turn it back on to Medium and remain signed in. Chaging connectivity...

Yahoo messenger just gets into a loop if IM messages are sent as plain text (ie unencrypted) across the Internet and can be captured anywhere it.
Windows Live Messenger does it sometimes.
