Can you sync mutiple iPods with the sames iTunes library? I would like to keep just music on my iPod nano, but have both music and videos on my iPod touch. Is this even possible?

Yes Just plug the extra iPod's into your iTunes an it will recognise them as being entirely music to your iPod nano, and only movies to your iPod touch).

Is there a way for me to transfer music from my iPod to my iTunes? Say, if I accidentally deleted some music on my computer but I have the files on my iPod?

If you put your iPod into Disk Mode, you can drag all the files to your music folder on....
On OSX there is expod and podUp , both free as well .
On Windows, you can use iDump to extract songs from the iPod then throw them into iTunes.

I just went out and bought an iPod classic 160gb and I downloaded a bunch of iTunes U files on iTunes and I can't seems to find where they sync on the iPod.
Any ideas here as I dont see any iTunes U menus on my iPod and I dont see them in the podcast ...

Is there a limit to the number of ipods I can manage thru one copy of iTunes? Is there any difference between music I've ripped myself (outside of iTunes, standard mp3s) and music purchased thru the itunes store?

I think SongBird can sync to an iPod/iPhone to automatically delete off the ....
Why? I have my podcasts://gPodder.org is a great tool for podcast aggregation .
But for the best results to sync to an iPod, iTunes is simply the best.

MusicMonkey, the foobar plugin all require installing iTunes.

As far as I am aware this list cannot be modified. .
This official Apple document lists all the items that are backed up during the backup and synchronization process .
I discovered that /User/Library/Preferences/ is one directory that is backed up .
