I'm currently developing an application which uses the iTunes COM (Win32) to hook into the iTunes application.
At the moment, I have managed to unhook the COM when iTunes closes through the use of the OnQuittingEvent which is great, iTunes doesn't display...

When I click on an itpc link in Firefox, e.g.
itpc://rss.conversationsnetwork.org/series/stackoverflow.xml
it brings focus to iTunes but doesn't change what's displayed there. Does anyone know what's going on?

If I switch to the Podcasts page, the new podcast is listed there .
And IE 7 brings focus to iTunes and the podcast starts to download, but the view doesn't change.

Have searched iTunes help but get no answers however seems to be a common problem!
Essentially iTunes is rendered useless as can't sync iPhone 4 to iTunes 10.5 and can't access Itunes....

Since the server is "headless", I administer Remote app.
So far, I'm doing it exactly the same way as I did when iTunes was on my iMac with the library iTunes for ripping, and point iTunes to that location.

In iTunes, I want to do something like this:
Podcast > (podcast name) > right click > go to podcast page in iTunes Store
Of course, there is no such option when I right click the podcast.
Is there a way to do something like that?

For some of the Podcasts, you can click the right-pointing arrow next to the Podcast's name (when selected... .
This one is a bit dodgy.
On the right arrow ant the end of the podcast name tales me to iTunes if I got the podcast from iTunes.

Is there a limit to the number of ipods I can manage thru one copy of iTunes? Is there any difference between music I've ripped myself (outside of iTunes, standard mp3s) and music purchased thru the itunes store?

You also have to go into iTunes > Preferences > Advanced and make sure "Minimize iTunes to System Tray" is unselected, and maybe ....
Right click the toolbar and from one of the 'Toolbar' submenu, make sure 'iTunes' is selected.

You can generate a limited set of RSS feeds for information in the iTunes store, but podcasts are not included.
Currently, generating RSS feeds of podcasts in the iTunes Music Store does not appear to be supported.
