SO I went out to jack up my car to get the Belly Pan off so I could drain the coolant. Turns out I only have a 2 ton jack and 2 ton stands lying around. GVWT (weight of B5.5 Passat) is something like 4100-4200 lbs as listed, meaning that I'm over my stands...

I have a set of old steel jack....
You name it.
If your current jack works well, I wouldn't be afraid to use it - heck floor jack I've had for years for the Passat, Expedition, boat trailer, golf cart...
They work fine on my Passat.

What do i do about this?
Its the passenger side but the drivers side is the same, But no holes in it yet!
The area around the "cup" has cracked when i was jacking it up and have used the subframe mount since.
Its obviously going to cost me but rough guide...

I love his good! i didn't say that Jack wasn't good at what he did - i just don't like the storyline -- it seems to be so prominent -- Jack was important....

Hey guys, i recently purchased a cheap 5 strings for fun. But it looks like it might have an issue
When i put cable to jack input its kind of hard to do.. you may need to push it a bit in the first place but will get better afterwards
however it sucks...

Replacing the jack is easiest fix.
Sounds like something is wrong with the jack.

I now have a real neat floor jack and jack stands to use on my Z4. I used the designated jack pads on the Z, but I don't really know where the jack stands should go. I know they should not go anywhere near suspension and other locations. With the jack...

AND you should never get under car with only jack.
BUT the jack is there you say.
You need to put the jack stands at the jack pads...not elsewhere.
